FIELD: textile engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has clamping roller and carriage on which blocks bear, the blocks directing and tightening the tape. The roller is tapered and positioned such that its axis of rotation is inclined to the surface of the drum at an angle equal to that adjacent to the base of the roller taper. The block applied for tightening the tape has rollers carried in pairs on rotary platforms which can be synchronously turned by one handle. One platform has a scale for recording the tightening force applied to the tape as a function of the angle the platform turns through relative the mark graduated on the carriage. The vertical guiding rollers contacting the back edge side of the tape have beads in the upper portions. EFFECT: longer service life and higher efficiency of machine. 4 cl, 5 dwg
