FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: measuring micrometric head has frame, supports located in it manufactured in the form of two units spread over length of measuring cylindrical rod. One end of measuring rod has lug, its other end carries drive in the form of flexible filament and ball attached to its other end. Measuring cylindrical rod is fabricated with flat longitudinal cut which plane is parallel to axis of rod and with through longitudinal groove symmetric relative to axis of measuring rod and perpendicular to plane of cut. Measuring unit is made in the form of illuminator, photodetector and two diffraction gratings coupled to frame. One of gratings is measuring one, it is located in groove of measuring rod so that plane of its grating is parallel to plane of cut and its lines are perpendicular to axis of measuring rod. Second grating is indicating one, it is rigidly coupled to frame and its plane is parallel to plane of measuring grating. EFFECT: enhanced precision of measurements. 4 cl, 3 dwg
