FIELD: radar navigation systems. SUBSTANCE: method involves complexing of results of two independent range measurements: first by value of delay between maximum of envelope and end of probing pulse and second by shift of phases between oscillations of probing and reflected pulses. For increase of interval of unambiguous measurement to value exceeding maximum error of coarse measurement phase measurements on two frequencies emitted in succession are taken into account and shift of phases corresponding to difference frequency is determined which makes it possible to enhance precision of range measurement.
