FIELD: transportation and storage of natural gas. SUBSTANCE: plant has "n" power units operating in parallel. Each unit consists of turbo-expander with synchronous generator on the shaft and frequency converter. Plant is also provided with separator for gas condensate which is fed to closed circulating loop. Auxiliary power unit is provided with auxiliary turbine connected to closed loop and synchronous generator with frequency converter. Potential energy of gas from underground storage is recovered by means of main power units and is transferred to power supply line. Cooled natural gas obtained at outlet of turbo-expanders is used for operation of auxiliary turbine working in heat-transfer agent closed circulating loop. Auxiliary power unit is used for recovery of thermal energy of gas from underground storage and air from surrounding medium. Mode of extraction of gas from underground storage is regulated by means of frequency converters of main power units controlled by signal from flow regulator.
