FIELD: methods for quality control of farm crops. SUBSTANCE: method for evaluation of root crop quality consists in measurement of fluorescence spectra of root crop and registration of parameters of fluorescence spectra. Value of deviation of fluorescence spectra of damaged by pathogen root crop of carrot from those of sound root crops is used to detect unsound ones. Carrot root crops are excited in spectrum bands of 290 ± 10 and 365 + 10 nm and flow of root crops is separated into the standard and nonstandard root crops by relation between registered fluorescence parameters of protein and vitamin components.
