FIELD: electrochemical generators. SUBSTANCE: in operating generators where electrolyte concentration is controlled according to change in electrolyte volume between levels, criterion is measured, where 1 is load current, A; n is number of fuel elements; τ is time of volume reduction from upper to lower level, min; V is level-to-level volume, cm. If M is below 150, concentration of electrolyte is raised and if it is higher than 400, concentration is reduced. EFFECT: facilitated control of electrolyte level.
