FIELD: fire fighting facilities. SUBSTANCE: installation for extinguishing fires from air is arranged in aircraft cargo compartment on supports secured to units of mooring system floor. Installation has reservoir for fire extinguishing liquid and lowering device which has hinge-down cover, arrangement holding the cover to reservoir end face, mechanism fixing the cover in closed position, cover turning drive and hold-open stop. Cover is coupled with drive, made in form of balancing weights, through bearing member and beams. Beams are made in form of rods with balancing weights. Fitted on free end of at least one of beams is end piece engaging with cover hold-open stop when cover is opened. Cover has special surface against which screw-type pressure device thrusts. Sealing gasket for engagement with reservoir end face is secured on cover. Mechanism fixing the cover in closed position is arranged on reservoir and is made in form of hinged locking bell-crank secured by axle and cam shaft in housing made fast on reservoir. Reservoir has filler neck. Trough to discharge fire extinguishing liquid on place on fire is secured on cargo compartment ramp. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 4 cl, 3 dwg
