FIELD: welding technology. SUBSTANCE: one of the welded blanks is brought into rotation and the blanks are squeezed with an axial effort. The joint is heated, it is registered by the standard change of the frictional torque. After the rotational drive is switched off the movable blank and the parts of the device connected with it continue to rotate according to inertia with the lagging determined by the correlation of the frictional torque in the joint and the total moment of inertia of the rotating parts. As the rotational speed decreases, the physical state of the joint changes, the frictional torque in the joint increases. When the frictional torque reaches a certain value chosen from the relationship stated in the text, the relative rotation of blanks is instantaneously stopped. Only after that the forging is carried out. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 1 cl, 5 dwg
