FIELD: rocketry; systems provided with power plants together with orbital shuttle-type vehicle or other vehicle carrying payload. SUBSTANCE: recoverable launch vehicle has at least one partially recoverable unmanned unit of first stage which may be used for performing operations involved in injection to orbit by one stage of this unit which carries payloads inside or outside; it may be also used as part of multi-stage orbital injection system for injecting heavier payloads. First-stage unit is detachably secured to other units of first stage, passive units carrying load and/or manned space vehicles. The first-stage unit may be fully expendable after launch. EFFECT: enhanced economical and operational efficiency of system which may be used with many different modules for creation of many launch configurations. 11 cl, 9 dwg
