FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: large-size shafts forging method provides for blank heating and its deformation. Butt of forged piece in process of deformation is made conical with angle of cone vertex of 50 - 165 deg. . Then forging is cooled to temperature of no less than Ar1. Corrosion is removed from conical surface. Next blank is set on vertex of the forging and it is deformed at degree of no less than 25 % till required diameter is produced. Then the cycle is repeated. Shaft manufacturing from smaller blanks excludes usage of large-size castings and improves processing of metal structure, especially of forging axial zone. Cooled conical vertex provides partial drifting of each next blank. EFFECT: large-size shaft forging method is used in mechanical engineering. 6 dwg
