FIELD: purification of lubricating and cooling liquid. SUBSTANCE: exhausted oil lubricating and cooling liquid is treated by 2-10 % aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide, its quantity being 3-17 % of volume of said liquid. The process is carried out by mixing and by heating to 45-65 C. Thus prepared mixture is allowed to stand by cooling, the process is followed by phase separation. Mentioned above treatment is preferred to carry out using aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide in mixture with powder sodium hydroxide, its quantity being at least 5 % of mass of said aqueous solution. EFFECT: improves efficiency of the method. 2 cl, 3 tbl
