FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: nuclear reactor has body 1 and active zone 2 located below level of heat transfer agent, circulation pumps 5 and pipe-line 15 to feed heat transfer agent into systems 14 positioned outside of reactor. Pipe-line 15 is arranged in jacket 19 which lower part communicates with suction space 9 of pumps and which upper part has holes 23 located below level A of heat transfer agent in body 1 when reactor operates under generation modes but higher than level Б under condition of overload. Pipe-line 15 is fitted with nozzle device and perforated section 24 situated behind it by pass of heat transfer agent directly over level B of heat transfer agent in jacket 19 when reactor operates under overload condition. Given design makes it possible to maintain circulation of heat transfer agent and cooling of active zone of reactor owing to operation of circulation pumps both under generation and overload conditions/and to increase safety of reactor by that. Even when emergency protection does not operate and pumps are not disconnected from reactor only insignificant amount of heat transfer agent will be discharged from pipe-lines outside of body break.
