TOOL FOR ONE-SIDED RIVETING AND METHOD TO OPERATE THE TOOL FOR ONE-SIDED RIVETING Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: machine building. SUBSTANCE: tool for one-sided riveting has a casing with a rest member installed at its output. The member is provided with a surface to touch heads of rivets. A split sleeve with gripping jaws to catch rivet rod is installed in the casing so to reciprocate. Mechanism to move the sleeve is pneumatic driven, and the mean to control sleeve operation is made in the form of vacuum generator and is located in casing of a detector to monitor vacuum built by the vacuum generator, and to generate a signal against exceeding predetermined value, as well as a control valve to control sleeve operation to open and to shut the valve against the above signal. The essence of the method to control the tool lies in the fact that vacuum level in the casing is under control, and a signal is generated when vacuum exceeds the predetermined level, specifying operation of the control valve, ensuring fulfillment of operations to open and to shut the sleeve. A proper case to realize the invention is described as applied to the tool intended for operation rivets. EFFECT: applied in spaces with restricted access. 5 cl, 4 dwg
