FIELD: control and safety systems of nuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: system functions to compare instant values of voltages picked off linear transducer coils at moment when active component of these voltages equals zero and to record results of comparison in digital storage device. Position monitoring system that has linear position transducer with inductance coils, nonretentive shunt rigidly coupled with control element, isolating transformers, first, second, and third resistors, voltage comparison circuits, synch pulse circuit, maximum voltage discriminating circuit, and minimum coil voltage discriminating circuit, position signal processing circuit, is provided in addition with D flip-flops whose data inputs are connected to outputs of respective comparison circuits; synchronizing inputs of D flip-flops are connected to output of sync pulse circuit and outputs of flip-flops are connected to inputs of position signal processing circuit. EFFECT: improved speed of response and reliability of position monitoring. 2 dwg
