FIELD: nuclear energy technology, control and protection systems engineering. SUBSTANCE: nuclear reactor control mechanism has stock connected tightly with control operating member, step-by-step operating driver placed in hermetically sealed reactor body filled by first circle cooling water, driver windings placed outward of reactor body, linear displacement pick-up with inductive coils placed inside pick-up tube installed coaxially in hollow stock body and connected to upper part of reactor hermetical body by flange connection to firm reactor body. Stock has shunt which moves along hermetical tube of pick-up construction, induction coils distributed along pick-up tube axis evenly and separated by nonmagnetic spacers. Shunt is made like series of magnetic and nonmagnetic pieces with common length equal to stock working pass length. Every step of driver motion corresponds only one base code combination of control member positioning which is composing simultaneously by every pick-up coils signals generated by shunt shortening action of full set of magnetic and nonmagnetic pieces which lengths are chosen so that intermediate code combinations appearing they can be attributed to one of neighboring position only.
