FIELD: papermaking. SUBSTANCE: synthetic paper contains 45-75 mas. short fibers of aromatic polyamide and 30-55 mas. of fibrids from poly(metaphehylenisophthalamide). Synthetic paper has thickened zones along side edges and adjacent areas with maximum thickness of these zones exceeding that of internal thickness by 5-25% measured at distance of 1-10 cm from edge. Method for making of this paper includes preparation of mass of paper raw material, application of it from pressure box to moving wire net, dewatering of formed sheet found on wire net along side edges and drying of sheet, cutting off sheet parts with the help of water nozzles supplying jets downward and to the side from initial edge of sheet to form thickened zones along side edges of sheet, and formed solid fibrous particles in the cutting process are mixed with mass of paper sheet. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 12 cl, 6 dwg
