SUBSTANCE: brick checker-work of the melting furnace regenerator has communicating vertical cells of longitudinal and lateral rows of refractory bricks laid on edge and alternating in height, which have the shape of a right-angled parallelogram. On the longitudinal and/or lateral rows the refractory bricks are shifted relative to those that are adjacent to them in rows over a distance of not more than up to the middle of the adjacent cells for opening of the end surfaces of refractory bricks for heat exchange. Refractory bricks can be positioned in rows on a straight line and shifted relative to the adjacent end surfaces. Refractory bricks in rows can also be positioned in a broken line and shifted relative to the adjacent ones in lateral direction. EFFECT: improved design. 3 cl, 11 dwg
