SUBSTANCE: device for measurement of linear movement has case, measurement rule attached to it, reading head mounted for movement along measurement rule. carriage installed in head contacting measurement rule by means of bearings, indicating rule put of carriage for interaction with measurement rule and mechanism pressing carriage against measurement rule. This mechanism is made in the form of restoring rod made fast to carriage with one end and rocker located on other end of rod mounted for limited axial movement along it and for turning relative to axis of restoring rod.
