FIELD: electrical and power engineering. SUBSTANCE: reactor has coils of main winding 1, coils of control winding 2, fastenings, magnetic system with legs and yokes 3 separated by nonmagnetic gaps from each other and provided with insulating components 4; magnetic system legs are essentially separate shell-type cores 5 with central legs and side yokes placed orthogonally in respect to center lines of main winding coils; central legs of shell-type cores carry coils of control winding 2; reactor has additional fastenings and electric sheet steel inserts 6 arranged so that nonmagnetic gaps are formed between yokes and shell-type cores relatively symmetrical with the latter and made for opposing displacement relative to yoke and cores along center lines of main winding coils; planes of inserts 6 coincide with those of shell-type cores 5 and part of insulating components 4 are primarily made in the form of epoxide compound coat applied to ends of sheets of inserts 6 on sides abutting yokes and shell-type cores 5.
