PLANK TIMBER DRYING APPARATUS Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: plank timber drying equipment. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has drying and control units made as modules. Each module is made in the form of container with crimped outer walls joined by means of connectors, sylphons and fixed by bolts. Air ducts, thermometers for measuring temperature and humidity of drying agent, moistening system, rails and gate are disposed in drying unit. Drying unit is further provided with converging tube which is made asymmetrical in vertical plane, with asymmetry coefficient K=1.3 - 1.5. Fans have air ducts, condensate collecting pan, air heater and condenser with drying agent moistening system. Moistening system has closed tank communicating with fan through pipeline and faucet. Tube is positioned within tank. Nozzle is fixed on tube end between fan and air heater. Thermometer moistening system has hermetically sealed vessel filled with water and is disposed in control unit so that it is connected through pipeline with water surface in vessel for moistening of thermometer. Rail way of apparatus may be provided with drop portion, which is pivotally connected with path and may be retained in vertical position by lever. EFFECT: increased efficiency in drying plank timber and enhance reliability in operation. 4 cl, 3 dwg
