FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves taking two portions of gastric juice: the basal one and histamin-stimulated one in each of which free hydrochloric acid, pepsin, general non-soluble and soluble mucus concentration is determined. The so obtained results are used to calculate interrelation coefficients between the above mentioned values from a formula. Favorable course of the disease development in case of conservative treatment applied is predicted, if the basal portion coefficient is equal to 0,98± 0,22 and/or 1,88± 1,20 and the histamin-stimulated coefficient is equal to 3,22± 1,44 and/or 6,54± 1,15. If the mentioned coefficients are equal to 2,74± 0,24 and 3,60± 0,42 as well as 3,62± 1,12 and 6,43± 0,85 in corresponding portions of the gastric juice, respectively the favorable course with applied surgical treatment is to be predicted. Unfavorable course is predicted in both conservative and surgical treatment being applied, if the values of the mentioned coefficients are equal to 3,46± 1,29 and -6,08± 2,3, respectively.
