FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: preliminary worked steel is alloyed by metallurgical way separately or in combination of chrome, manganese, cobalt, nickel and molybdenum in following concentrations ( in mass): chrome no less than 12; manganese no less than 1.05; cobalt no less than 14; nickel no less than 5; molybdenum no less than 5. Cobalt, titanium carbide, tantalum carbide, niobium carbide are introduced in hard alloy so, that their total concentration is no less than 15 mass Produced tools of alloy are subjected to action of α and g radiation in intervals 4,0·1012-1,9·1013 cm-2, 8,6·107-1,3·108 roentgen correspondingly. EFFECT: increased cutting tools durability, prevented residual radioactivity, increased efficiency. 2 tbl
