FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method is used mainly in cold and hot metals mechanical working, in particular - to provide operational durability of cutting tools. Method allows to increase operational durability of solid alloy pieces and to determine analytical dependence between parameter of mode of treatment - dose of radiation treatment - and operational durability of treated piece. The new thing is the fact, that wavelength of X-ray or Gamma-Ray emission is chosen in limits from 1.234 . 101,234•10-3 to 24.5 deg. A, and dose of radiation D is determined by given formula. EFFECT: increased operational durability of solid alloy pieces.
