FIELD: agriculture; veterinary medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves daily treatment of the nose mirror with artificial sex pheromone for 5-9 days. The first treatment is given to the animal 8-12 or 18-23 days after calving. Diseased cows receive their first treatment upon identification of the disease. Newly calved animals are treated for 6-18 days, and heifers are treated as they are introduced in the covering herd. Young replacement animals are treated 1-4 times at an interval of 17-23 days, and the first treatment is given to heifers aged 7-24 months. The method allows for the service period to be 50-90 days, and the index of insemination ranges from 1.4 to 2.7. The rate of conception is as high as 96% and the percentage of failure is as low as zero to 5% EFFECT: longer service period; higher conception rate. 8 tbl
