FIELD: separation of non-mixing liquids with different specific gravities. SUBSTANCE: settler has a row of cross vertical intermodule partitions 16, being mutually parallel and arranged in the special gap 12 between the separation modules 10, 11. An opening of the front cross partition 5 is at a height of the gap 12. Each intermodule partition 16 has at least one opening. Centers of these openings and the center of the opening of the front partition 5 lay on the same straight line, parallel with a lengthwise axis of the housing 1 or coinciding with that axis. The rear partition 6 is solid one; the upper edge 20 of the front partition 5 is arranged over the upper edge 21 of the rear cross partition 6 and over the upper edge 24 of the overflow lip 3. The intermodule partitions 16 may be straight ones, or they may be bent in their mean portions. At the last case each partition 16 forms a bihedral angle, equal to 80-160 degrees, whose rib is vertical one and whose lateral faces are symmetrical relative to the vertical plane, passing through the lengthwise axis of the housing 1. The opening of the front partition 5 and openings of each intermodule cross partition 16 may be arranged near one of the lateral walls of the housing 1 or near both lateral walls of the housing 1, or in a mean portion of the partitions 16, or in the mean portion of the partitions 16 and near both lateral walls of the housing 1.
