FIELD: oil refining industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves decationizing of high-silica mordenite with silica modulus of 17.5 by ammonium chloride till exchange rate reaches 83-92% introducing platinum from platinum chlorohydric acid into zeolite obtained; mixing with aluminum hydroxide, which had been previously treated with boric acid and aluminum hydroxochloride in the weight ratio of Pt-NH4-mordenit:Al2O3-B2 O3-Cl(50-70):(30-50); treating with halogen- containing composition, forming, drying and calcining. EFFECT: increased efficiency and high quality of catalyst. 1 tbl
