FIELD: catalytic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: preparation is effected by introduction into carrier Al2O3 of additive of cerium or rare-earth elements with the help of their precipitation from cerium nitrate solution or concentrate of sum of rare-earth elements into pulp of active aluminium hydroxide at pH 9-9.2 and temperature of 50-70 C. Then, the process includes calcination of carrier at 500-550 C, introduction of platinum from solution of chloroplatinic acid in the amount of 0.2-0.5% and treatment with 0.5-2% solution of HC(O)OH at room temperature for 5-15 min, and activation-reduction under drying conditions at 60-180 C for 4-6 h. These conditions provide for increased activity of catalyst (methane oxidation rate at 550 C amounts to 12,3·103 cm3CH4/g·h versus 2,8·102 cm3CH4/g·h; conversion degrees of nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide are 61.2 and 70% versus 54 and 65.5%; heat resistance up to 1000-1050 C with no emission of harmful effluents or high temperature calcination.
