FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: method involves treatment of vinyl chloride polymer solution in chlorobenzene with gaseous chlorine in the presence of azobis-isobutyronitrile at 100-105 C followed by isolation of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride. Copolymer of vinyl chloride with 1.5-4.0 wt. -% monoester on the basis of maleic anhydride and hydroxyethylated C1-C3-alcohol is used as polymer. Product is used for production of chemically stable coatings. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis. 1 tbl
