FIELD: hydrometallurgy of nonferrous metals. SUBSTANCE: alkaline sulfide-sulfate melt obtained after smelting lead concentrate is oxidized to convert sodium sulfide and thiosulfate to sodium sulfate. Then melt is leached with alkali for two stages: at the first stage concentration of alkaline is maintained 450-350g/сm3, at the second one 150-170g/dm3. Solution from the first leaching stage is fed to evaporation and alkali production, and from the second one to electrolysis for removal of sulfate ion from the process as sulfuric acid and for alkali reproduction which is fed for parental melt leaching.
