FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy of non-ferrous metals and can be used in recovery of lead from oxysulphate sludge (OSS) of lead of lead-antimony electrode grids of accumulator scrap. Lead is reduced from oxysulphate sludge of accumulator batteries in molten caustic soda at addition of sodium sulphide at weight ratio of OSS:NaOH:Na2S, equal to 100:(15–16):(75–100), and temperature of 500–550 °C for 40–45 minutes.
EFFECT: method provides high reduction of lead to metallic phase (more than 99 %) with high quality of obtained metal, simplification of process.
