ROAD STRUCTURE Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: road building. SUBSTANCE: road structure includes ground bed, road dressing, shoulders, venting channels, water outlets, and balanced ventilation chambers. Ventilation channels are filled with crushed stone and placed under shoulders. Besides, the channels have a coating of asphalt/concrete and provided with thermal insulating interlayer in the form of a holder located at the level of underlaying bed of sand, antisilting bed bending round lower part of the channel up to the holder. This bed may be both closed over crushed stone perimeter, and open from upper part. Vapor insulation is placed under the holder on channel bottom. Balanced ventilation chambers are placed beyond bounds of the shoulder and connected to the channels in upper part of those. Fans may provided for the balanced chambers of needed. Water outputs are made in the form of absorbing wells or asbestos cement tubes. Drainage tubes may be provided under channel bottom at high level of ground waters.
