FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: heating unit is made up as a set of thin-walled pipes. One ends of the pipes are coupled with the head of cylinder 1. The other ends are coupled with regenerator 2 and combined at the top part of the heater with ring manifold 4. The pipes of the heater and ring manifold are mounted around the cylinder. The set of the pipes mounted around the cylinder and connecting the regenerator with the ring collector is enclosed by ring manifold 5 which is defined by casing 6. Gas-air mixture is fed to the manifold through injector 7. Perforated cylinder 9 is positioned from the inner side of the pipe set at the outlet of the air-gas mixture. Spaces between the regenerator pipes allow the flow of the air-gas mixture to exceed the rate of flame propagation. The spaces between the cylinder pipes and perforation permit the flow of air-gas mixture to be less than the flame propagating rate. The distance between the regenerator pipes and perforated cylinder is 1-3 mm over the radius. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 1 dwg
