FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: device measuring lateral dimensions of part has scanning unit incorporating source of directed radiation beam, rotary mirror reflector 3, lens 4, photoelectric sensor 5 arranged on edges of lens and circuit of formation of "alignment" pulse, receiving unit composed of collimating lens 13, photodetector 14, circuit for extraction of shading pulse and data processing unit. Photoelectric sensor 5 is manufactured in the form of two mirrors reflecting 6, semitransparent 7, lens 8, diaphragm 9, photodetector 10. Proposed design makes it possible to diminish error caused by great length of "alignment" pulse. Device is also fitted with automatic commutator allowing width of clearances to be measured.
