FIELD: railway transport; intercar wire coupler. SUBSTANCE: mechanical coupler has body with centering cone and projections for engagement with automatic coupler of other car. Rigidly fitted on one of projections is pusher for engagement with lock of automatic coupler of other car. Mounted on bracket in body is spring-loaded lock installed for turning and made in form of screw with different-hand thread nuts, locking mechanism installed on screw for turning, spring-loaded pawl and retainer installed for engagement with nuts. EFFECT: provision of reliable slack-free connection of two neighboring automatic couplers, enhanced operating characteristics of couplers. 3 cl, 7 dwg
