APPARATUS FOR PICKING LIGHTWEIGHT OBJECTS FROM PLANTS Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus comprises chamber 3 for blowing of plant bushes, formed by two air-accumulating containers 2, each connected with air pressure system 5 via an air conduit consisting of pipe 3 and a flexible hose connected thereto. Air-accumulating containers 2 are arranged symmetrically to the longitudinal axis of apparatus and form a working slot therebetween for the passage of brushes. The working slot in the lower part of the blow chamber has a rhombus-like enlarged portion which accommodates slot-like nozzles installed in the front walls of the air-accumulating containers 2 (as the apparatus moves), said nozzles communicating with said containers 2. Each of said nozzles has a source of pulsating air jets. Said source is constituted by an oscillating generator of air flow pulses. The rear walls of containers 2 (as the apparatus moves) of the rhombus-like enlarged portion of the working slot accommodate nozzles 9 of the stationary flow. The longitudinal axes of the nozzles are set at an angle of α 45-60 deg to the horizontal plane and lie in the vertical planes disposed, respectively, at angles of b and 180-b where they make an angle of 10-15 deg. Introduction of additional slot-like nozzles of the stationary flow installed in the rear walls of the accumulating containers steps up efficiency considerably. In addition, the design of the apparatus ensures favorable patterns of the resultant air flow velocity in the working chamber, indispensable for holding and processing of plant brushes passing therethrough.
