FIELD: chemical-heat treating of metals. SUBSTANCE: furnace has a device for creating vortex flows of gas and uniform distribution of the flows over the height of the retort. The retort consists of two vertical coaxial pipes 5 and 6. Pipe 6 of less diameter is received in pipe 5 partially. The top end of the pipe is plugged. The pipe has diametrically opposite slots converging in the direction to the inner side of pipe 6. The diameters of pipes 5 and 6 relate as 3:1. Saturating gas enters slots of pipe 6 through pipe 5. As the diameters of pipes 5 and 6 are different and owing to the design of slots, the turbulent vortex flow occurs. The flow reaches the bottom of the retort. The exhaust gas is discharged from the retort through the gas pipe line. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 dwg
