FIELD: mixing loose materials. SUBSTANCE: mixer is constructed as the vertical hopper made up as a trancated cone. The top of the cone points downward. Mixing spiral members are mounted inside the hopper. The inner spiral member is made of a spring material to permit movement along the axis of the shaft with respect to the outer conical spiral member through a distance defined by the relation ship presented in the invention description. The ends of the spiral member are pivotally connected with the shaft for permitting deflection in the vertical plane passing through the axis of the central member when it is compressed or stretched.
