FIELD: extraction chemistry. SUBSTANCE: solution of scandium and nonferrous metals containing sodium perchlorate and hydrochloric acid is shaken with 0.05-0.1M benzoyl-4-antipyrine solution in chloroform. Scandium is reextracted with water at pH 3.0-3.5. Aqueous phase is treated with 0.5-1.0M potassium hydroxide up to pH about 8.5. Precipitate is filtered, washed and dried. Product purity is 99.99% EFFECT: increased purity of product. 3 tbl
