FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: proposed process makes it possible to enhance density of multiple-conductor composite billet due to reduction of volume of cavities in it. It also increases reliability of manufacture of superconductors with thin and superthin wires. Reduction of volume of cavities is achieved as result of deformation compaction of round thin-wall tube of normal metal filled with single-wire bars to hexagonal profile, of its cutting into measured billets and of their positioning in shell of normal metal for final extrusion. EFFECT: enhanced density of multiple-conductor composite billets. 1 dwg
