FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: process is desired for high-frequency welding of metal mainly steel and copper, corrugated sheaths of electric cables with continuous and porous nonheat resistant insulation. Fixture produced from nonmetal wear- and heat-resistant material in the form of plate with groove housing weld- directing knife is positioned in zone of welding between weld and core to enhance quality of cable by smoothing internal fin. Maximum thickness of fixture is equal to difference between inner diameter of sheath prior to its corrugation and diameter of described circumference of core. Shape, profile, dimensions of groove and curvature radii of surfaces of fixture contacting sheath and core are chosen such which allow this fixture to be placed in clearance between inner surface of sheath and core not injuring surface of sheath and insulation of core and pressing by core to internal fin of sheath immediately after its formation in welding rolls. Side faces of groove should be placed at certain distance from heated edges of sheath billet not impending free formation of weld of sheath. EFFECT: enhanced quality of cables. 4 dwg
