FIELD: HF welding of corrugated metal sheaths of electric cables. SUBSTANCE: device made from nonmetallic wear-and-heat-resistant material is positioned under the core in the welding zone before welding roll axle. Maximum thickness of the device is equal to the difference between the height of the internal cavity of welded sheath before corrugation or reduction and the diameter of core described circumference. The shape, profile and curvature radiuses of the device are selected so as to dispose it in the gap between internal surface of sheath and core to permit it to press the core against internal burr of the sheath immediately after its formation and to prevent damage to insulation and sheath surface. EFFECT: wider technological capabilities for making corrugated sheaths. 2 dwg
