FIELD: electrochemical sources of electric energy. SUBSTANCE: method is aimed at determination of electrolyte density of lead-acid cell during inoperative period without current by its measured established emf, in process of discharge of cell by computation of starting mass of electrolyte before discharge, by computation of consumption of sulfuric acid and formation of water during discharge depending on electric capacitance given away by cell. In process of charge of cell density is determined by computation of starting mass of electrolyte before charge, by computation of mass of created sulfuric acid and of consumed water depending on number of ampere-hours spent for charging with allowance for utilization factor of electric energy supplied for charging and computed beforehand.
