FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: porous grinding wheel manufactured in agreement with proposed process is produced from mixture of polyvinylbutiral, solid pore former and abrasive powder taken in following proportion, volume per cent: abrasive powder 20-25; polyvinylbutiral 32-38; solid pore former 40-45. Billet is formed from this mixture, then it is pressed and baked. Final hardening is conducted without access of oxygen at temperature 250-300 C for the course of 2.5-4.0 h. In the capacity of pore former there is taken mixture of sublimated and soluble solid substances in proportion (1: 100): (1:10) which evaporate partially during baking forming open porosity and which solve fully after hardening and rinsing of finished grinding wheel. EFFECT: enhanced manufacturing efficiency. 4 cl, 2 tbl
