FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: seal has segments 1 received by stator slot 2 which rest against each other and form sectional segmental ring; seal is also provided with working blades 4 with shroud ring 5; lateral walls of segments are provided with circular grooves which form I-shaped cross section of segments 1; provided in wall of stator slot is cylindrical projection received by circular grooves; this projection forms throttling clearances with walls of segments 1; made on surface of shroud ring 5 and on surfaces of segments 1 directed towards it are central projection 11 and projections 9 of varying thickness, respectively which form clearance reducing in direction towards sense of rotation of working blades 4; made in central portion of segments 1 are passages which connect zone of minimum clearance with zone of throttling clearances and with slot 2 of stator 3.
