GEAR CLEANING WATER FROM OIL AND OIL PRODUCTS AND FOR THEIR EXTRACTION Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: environmental control. SUBSTANCE: gear includes intake system of polluted water, chamber for separation of water from oil and oil products fitted with in outlet branch pipe coupled to intake system and with two outlet branch pipes for discharge of purified water and oil and oil products extracted from it. Gear also has filtering element installed inside chamber based on porous unwoven material in the form of cylinder with hole along longitudinal axis and sealed tightly on one end face. Filtering element in to which polluted water is fed is mounted horizontally for rotation about longitudinal axis under fast or slowed condition. Gear has system for discharge of purified water coupled to outlet branch pipe for purified water. In process of cleaning of polluted water filtering element works under condition of slow rotation and it transfers into fast rotation condition after its saturation with oil and oil products for their separation from filtering element under action of centrifugal forces. During this period polluted water is not fed into chamber. Purified water system can have chute to collect purified water placed under filtering element and coupled to outlet branch pipe for purified water and movable screen protecting chute from pollution during operation of filtering element under condition of fast rotation. System for discharge of purified water may also include filtering extension piece manufactured from porous unwoven material put on outlet branch pipe for purified water.
