FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves condensation of pheyl-containing compound with appropriate ketone at their molar ratio (0.81-1.5): 1. The process is carried out in the presence of gaseous HCL as catalyst, said process is followed by blowing reaction mixture with inert gas. Thus obtained product is crystallized in o-xylene, hydrazine or its salt being used as additive (its quantity being 1-15 g per 100 g of origin phenol). Thus prepared crystals are washed by solvent and then are dried at 110-130 C. EFFECT: improves efficiency of method. 1 tbl
