FIELD: applied physics. SUBSTANCE: seismometer has housing containing inert mass, permanent magnet and magnetoelastic converter consisting of magnetoelastic sensitive element and measuring windings. Inert mass is made of nonmagnetic material, mainly of material of high density. Magnet is made in form of radially magnetized ring with poles on lateral cylindrical surfaces. Inert mass is rigidly secured to magnetoelastic sensitive element filling interior of radially magnetized ring with no clearance (i.e. rigidly fit on free end of magnetoelastic sensitive element for interaction with poles of magnet on inner lateral surface of magnetized ring). EFFECT: increased resonance frequency of natural oscillations of system which enhances resolving power of method and sensitivity due to optimization of construction and weakening of spurious external actions, thus increasing depth of seismic prospecting. 1 dwg
