CARTRIDGE FEEDING MECHANISM Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: small arms. SUBSTANCE: cartridge feeding mechanism has two tubular magazines (each can be loaded with its own type of ammunition), two separators coupled to mobile parts of weapon, carriage with change-over mechanism placed sidewise to magazines, position locating arm, thrust plate overlapping outlet channel of one of magazines and cartridge indicator in the form of lever mounted for interaction with thrust plate put on same axle with two probes arranged on both sides of plate. One of them is located in through groove of magazine not overlapped by thrust plate. Before shooting shooter choses magazine which will be used in shooting by action on change-over mechanism, moves carriage and thrust plate overlaps second magazine. With movement of mobile parts of weapon separators will be moved aside and cartridge will be fed from magazine not overlapped by thrust plate. When cartridges in magazine are spent, probe will lower through groove into channel of magazine, lever will move thrust plate in radial direction opening channel of second magazine which provides for continuation of shooting.
