FIELD: measuring engineering. SUBSTANCE: toll has rod with longitudinal groove and linear scale, frame with a vernier mounted on the rod for permitting movement and locking with respect to the rod, measuring jaws for inner and outer measurements rigidly secured to one of the ends of the rod and frame, depth gauge rigidly secured to the frame and set in the groove, friction roller, and two additional friction rollers secured in the frame. The rollers are conical in shape and are secured in the frame and fit in the rod grooves with interference. The friction roller, mounted in the groove together with depth gauge, is interposed between the two other rollers mounted in V-shaped rod groove. The opposite part of the rod is provided with a flat inclined to its face plane. This part is allowed to use it as a toolmaker's straight edge.
