METHOD AND HARVESTER FOR LODGED STALKED PLANTS Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves feeding stalked plants to cutting unit and simultaneously disintegrating plants engaged one with the other; uniformly ejecting cut plants into air flow which is adapted to feed cut plants onto conveying device. Lodged stalked plants harvester has passive stalk lifters, cutting unit and device for lifting and feeding plants to cutting unit and feeding cut plants to conveying device. Harvester is further provided with block of fans mounted above cutting unit for longitudinal displacement in horizontal plane and changing air flow direction. Tubular shaft incorporating finger-type mechanism is mounted below fan block pressure opening on bottom between cutting unit and conveying device along harvester width. Fingers are spaced along shaft and may be positioned in front of cutting unit with minimum extension. EFFECT: reduced yield loss during harvesting, improved uniformity of feeding cut plant mass for threshing and enhanced reliability in operation. 3 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl
